Hickory, N.C. - The Brevard College women’s soccer team was on the road Wednesday night. The Tornados traveled to Hickory to take on the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears and were downed 2-0 in the SAC contest. Brevard falls to 3-7-1 on the season and 1-3-0 in South Atlantic Conference play this season.
Brevard was unable to get the offense flowing as they fell behind after 15 minutes into the game. Laura Linehan took a pass from Kaelia Frazier to beat Crissy Moran (Franklin County, Va.) for the first goal of the game, making it 1-0 in favor of the Bears.
Frazier was able to setup the second and final goal of the game as well. Catherine Hauck blasted a shot into the top left corner of the goal giving the Bears the final 2-0 edge in the game.
The second half was dominated by the L-R offense as well. The Bears outshot the Tornados 18-3 in the second half and 38-5 overall in the game.
Moran spent the entire game in net for Brevard. She made 14 saves after being faced with 38 shots.
The Tornados take to the turf again on Saturday when they play host to SAC competitor Wingate University. Brevard and the Bulldogs kick-off at 2 p.m. at the Brevard College Soccer Field.
