Salisbury, N.C. - The Brevard College men’s soccer team was unable to upend the Catawba Indians as they fell 3-2 on Saturday. The Indians were able to regain the lead after falling behind 1-0 in the first 15 minutes of play. With the loss Brevard fell to 3-14-1 and 2-7 in South Atlantic Conference play.
Andrew Gallowitch (Monroe, N.C.) found the net for the fourth time this season by opening the scoring in the first 15 minutes of play. Gallowitch hit the back of the net at 12:56 to give Brevard an early 1-0 lead.
Catawba was able to return fire by scoring three unanswered goals. Kyle Griewisch scored a goal in the 30th minute to tie things up at one goal a piece.
Jorge Sucar gave the Indians a lead in the 38th minute when he was able to beat the Brevard keeper.
Spencer Preston was able to find the back of net in the 78th minute. Preston’s goal gave Catawba a late 3-1 lead.
Sean Allison (Santa Rosa, Calif.) scored his second goal of the season when he beat the Catawba keeper in the final eight minutes of play. Allison’s goal made it 3-2, which is where the match remained.
