BANNER ELK, N.C. - A pair of second half goals allowed and a sputtering offensive attack doomed Brevard College Monday night, as the Tornados fell to Lees-McRae College, 2-0, in women's soccer action. The loss drops Brevard to 2-2 on the season, while the Bobcats remain perfect at 3-0.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes of play, the Bobcats got on the board in the 60th minute when Marissa Middleton scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Vicki Rich.
The Bobcats padded their advantage in the 89th minute when Jessica O'Leary netted a goal, her second of the season. The assist came from Christine Calvert, and the goal pushed the score line to its final 2-0 position.
The Tornados look to get back in the win column when they begin their maiden South Atlantic Conference voyage Thursday, September 11, against Lenoir-Rhyne University. First kick at the Brevard Soccer Field is set for 5 p.m. The Bobcats will host Columbia College in their next contest, also on Thursday.
