WILLS AND APPS RECORD POINT IN BREVARD 8-1 LOSS TO #16 LANDER

Tornados fall to Bearcats on the road

Greenwood, S.C. - Beau Wills and Shane Apps took home a win at #3 doubles and Sam MacNeil continued to play tough this season at #2 singles, but it was not enough as Brevard fell to #16 Lander University on Friday afternoon, 8-1.

The Tornados fell at the top two doubles positions, before Wills and Apps defeated Gary Bertoldo and Oscar Perman at the #3 spot in a hard-fought match, 9-7.

In singles competition, MacNeil took Oscar Axelsson to a third set tiebreaker before falling 6-2, 2-6, 10-7, but Brevard was unable to record a point the rest of the way in suffering their second defeat of the season.

The Tornados remain on the road as they travel to Gaffney, S.C. and Limestone College to take on the Saints on Tuesday, March 1st. Doubles competition at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center begins at 2 p.m.
