Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College head women’s basketball coach Bill Wilson announced today that Paige Bridgers has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Brevard College.
Paige Bridgers, who comes to Brevard from Wendell, N.C., is a 5-8 guard that scored over 1,000 points for the girl’s basketball program at St. David’s School. This year as a senior, Bridgers averaged 17.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and made 80 three-pointers while shooting 38% from the three-point line.
Over the last three seasons she has been named to the Eastern Plains Independent Conference All-Conference Team and the EPIC All-Tournament Team. As a junior in 2007, Bridgers was the MVP of the EPIC Tournament.
An outstanding track athlete as well, Bridgers was on the North Carolina All-State Team in 2007 winning a silver medal in the 4x800 meters and a bronze medal in the 800 meters and the mile in the 2007 North Carolina State Championships.
Academically Bridgers is an Honor Roll student and in 2007 won the United States Academic Excellence Award.
“Paige is a hard worker that shoots the three very well,” commented Coach Wilson. “It is no accident that we recruit players such as Paige that are tremendous outside threats. She will thrive in our offense and she plays with an intensity that teammates can draw upon.”
Bridgers will make her debut for the Tornado’s in the 2008-09 season.
