Charlotte, N.C. - The Brevard College track and field team competed in the Charlotte 49er Classic hosted by UNC-Charlotte on Irwin Belk Track this weekend.
The Tornados had five athletes compete in the competition, with Angela Canale being the only one on the women’s side. Canale raced in the women’s 5000 meter run and came in 31st in the field of 62 with a time of 19:24.10.
On the men’s side, the Tornados had four athletes compete in two different events. Jordan Tager was the sole racer for Brevard in the men’s 5000 meter run. Tager finished in 48 th place in the field of 64 men. Tager crossed the finish line in a time of 16:38.33.
Brevard had three individuals race in the men’s 1500 meter run at Irwin Belk Track. Erik Gibbs led the way for the Tornados finishing in 4:21.85, good for a 71st place finish. Josh Mower wasn’t far behind Gibbs as he finished 72nd with a time of 4:21.93. Christopher Shore was next to cross for Brevard at the 74th spot with a time of 4:22.79.
The Tornados are back in action on March 26th when they travel to Cullowhee, N.C. to race at Western Carolina University.
