Signing class increases to 16

Brevard, N.C. - Head Coach Paul Hamilton and his staff, in conjunction with the Brevard College Athletic Department, is pleased to announce the addition of four commitments to the 2011 Brevard College Football Team.

Landon Allen, Nick Hatch, Marcus Lambert and Nasif Majeed have all committed to coming to Brevard College and joining the football team for the fall 2011 season.

The 2011 signing class is now up to 16 players as the Tornados continue their preparations for the upcoming 2011 season.

Landon Allen – Allen joins the Tornados from Oakboro, N.C., where he played under Coach Mark Little at West Stanly High School. Allen was a three-year letterman with the varsity football team and was an All-County and All-Conference selection. A Team Captain for the Colts, Allen won the Defensive MVP and the Team Player of the Year award. In addition to football, Allen was a four-year letterman on the Track & Field team, being selected to the All-Conference team. He was also the Field MVP, a Regional and State qualifier and was a member of the 1,000 pound club. Off the field, Allen was on the Honor Roll and a member of the National Honor Society, as well as receiving the Civics and Economics Honors Award and the Physical Development Award. He is the son of Larry and Donna Allen.

Nicolas Hatch – Hatch joins the Tornados from Winston-Salem, N.C., where he played under Coaches Josh McGee and Greg King at Ronald W. Reagan High School. Hatch was voted the Reagan Player of the Year, having received the WXII Channel 12 Play of the Week and the Flow Player of the Week. He was also selected to the Central Piedmont Conference 4A All-Conference team and All-County teams, as well as the Offensive MVP. He also ran for 1,000+ yards rushing in the last two years setting Reagan rushing records. He also was a four-year letterman on the varsity wrestling and track teams. On the mat, Hatch was an All-Conference selection, setting the school record for wins. He also was named to the All-Conference track team. Hatch leaves Reagan as the school’s record holder in the bench press, lifting 375 pounds. Off the field, Hatch was a Crosby Scholar and on the Honor Roll. Hatch also spend a lot of time in the community in Winston-Salem going on annual mission trips, as well as serving as a monthly food pantry volunteer and a science museum volunteer. He is the son of Ben and Joy Hatch.

Nasif Majeed – Majeed joins the Tornados from Charlotte, N.C., where he played under Coach Andrew Howard at Phillip O. Berry Academy. He was selected the Charlotte Observer Player of the Week in both August 2010 and November 2010. Off the field, Majeed was on the A-B Honor Roll and the A Honor Roll. He is the son of Nasif Rashad Majeed.
