Brevard, N.C. - Coach Shigeyoshi Shinohara has released the Brevard College Women’s Soccer schedule, in conjunction with the BC Sports Information Department.
The Tornados have a full 17 game slate set for the 2011 season as Brevard looks to improve on their previous seasons in their fourth year as full members of the NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference.
Brevard will host eight regular season games at the BC Soccer Field, while the Tornados will be on the road for nine contests in the 2011 season.
Brevard will open the preseason with a three game slate, with an exhibition on August 18th in Central, S.C. against Southern Wesleyan, before hosting a pair of scrimmages against the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy and Limestone at the BC Soccer Field on August 21st and 27th.
The Tornados will remain home to open the season as they take on a pair of non-conference opponents in Erskine and King (Tenn.) at Brevard, N.C. The Tornados will take on the Flying Fleet on September 1st, while hosting the Tornado on September 3rd.
Brevard will make a trip to Aiken, S.C. to take on the Pacers of USC Aiken on September 7th, before returning home to take on Bluefield at Brevard, N.C. on September 10th in the first contest between the two teams since the Tornados took part in the Appalachian Athletic Conference back in 2006.
The Tornados will head back on the road as they take on Montreat on September 13th, before opening South Atlantic Conference play on the road at Carson-Newman on September 17th.
Brevard will remain in conference play for the next four games as they host Lenoir-Rhyne on September 21st, before taking to the road for back-to-back games in Tennessee against Lincoln Memorial (Sept. 24) and Tusculum (Sept. 28).
BC returns home to open the month of October as they host Mars Hill on October 1st, before jumping out of conference again as they travel to Belmont Abbey on October 4th.
The Tornados travel to Wingate as they return to conference action on October 8th and remain in SAC play as they host Anderson on the 12th.
BC hosts Young Harris College in their final stretch of the season, before heading to the road for two games against Newberry (Oct. 22) and Converse (Oct. 26).
The Tornados wrap up the 2011 regular season at home as they host conference opponent Catawba for Senior Day at the BC Soccer Field on October 29th.
