Signing class now up to 25 players

Brevard, N.C. - Head Coach Paul Hamilton and his staff, in conjunction with the Brevard College Athletic Department, are pleased to announce the addition of nine commitments to the 2011 Brevard College Football team.

Tevin Bradshaw, Andrew Cirino, Dylan Cook, Michael Copeland, Grayson Ethridge, Michael Francois, Jeremiah Jacobs, Austin Martinez and Christan Pearson have all committed to come to Brevard College and join the football team for the fall 2011 season.

The 2011 signing class is now up to 25 players as the Tornados continue their preparations for the upcoming 2011 season.

Tevin Bradshaw – Bradshaw joins the Tornados from Moncks Corner, S.C., where he played under Dr. Jerry Brown at Berkeley High School. Bradshaw lettered in football and soccer at Berkeley and was named Player of the Week twice in his senior year, including a 102 yard, three touchdown performance on August 27th and 261 yards total offense and one touchdown pass on November 5th. He is the son of Corey and Shalina Bradshaw.

Andrew Cirino – Cirino joins the Tornados from Naugatuck, Conn., where he played under Coach Rob Plasky at Naugatuck High School. Cirino was a senior captain for the Greyhounds and was a two-time MVP as well as the Mr. Integrity Award Winner. Cirino was nominated for the Connecticut High School All-Star team in 2010 and was the Naugatuck High School Running Back MVP. Cirino also lettered in baseball where he was the starting shortstop. He is the son of Shelby and Leonardo Cirino.

Dylan Cook – Cook joins the Tornados from Sherrills Ford, N.C., where he played under Coach Randy Lawman at Bandys High School. Cook also lettered in baseball and track at Bandys where he played fifth in shot put at the Catawba County Championships and seventh in shot put at the CVAC meet. He is the son of Craig and Sonya Cook.

Michael Copeland – Copeland joins the Tornados from Shelby, N.C., by way of Shelby High School and Cleveland Community College. Copeland was twice named the Player of the Week and received the Best Offensive Back Award and the C.C. Horn Award. Copeland was also named the Border Showcase MVP. He is the son of Sharon Copeland.

Grayson Ethridge – Ethridge joins the Tornados from Morganton, N.C., where he played under Coach Chris Deal at Patton High School. Ethridge was a three-time All-Conference selection and was the MVP of the MoTown Throwdown. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in his senior year. He is the son of Stephanie and Jimmy Ethridge.

Michael Francois – Francois joins the Tornados from Augusta, Ga., where he played under Coach Ashley Harden at Butler High School. Francois was an All-Region Team Defensive End in 2009 and made the All-Region Team again in 2010 as a Linebacker. He also received the Leadership Award. He is the son of Brennan and Lynda Francois.

Jeremiah Jacobs – Jacobs joins the Tornados from Andrews, N.C., where he played under Coach Dane Rickett at Andrews High School. Jacobs was a three year letter winner and two-time captain for the Wildcats and was named to the All-Conference team in 2010. Rickett received the Coaches’ Award in 2010 and finished his senior season with 46 receptions for 833 yards and 10 touchdowns. Rickett was also a standout performer on the Wildcats Basketball and Track and Field teams. Off the field, he was a Scholar Athlete and a member of the Beta Club and Honor Roll. He is the son of Cassie and David Lindley and Justin and Christine Jacobs.

Austin Martinez – Martinez joins the Tornados from Winston-Salem, N.C., where he played under Coach Adrian Snow at West Forsyth High School. Martinez was a three-time All-County selection with the Titans, making the All-Conference First Team in his senior year. Martinez was also an All-Northwest linebacker and led West Forsyth in tackles in both 2009 and 2010. Martinez also played on the Titans’ baseball team. He is the son of Robin Martinez.

Christan Pearson – Pearson joins the Tornados from Miramar, Fla., where he played under Coach Steve Bruns at Pembroke Pines Charter High School. Pearson was a three year letterman with the Jaguars. He is the son of Sandra Hewitt-Pearson and Joseph Pearson.
