Rock Hill, S.C. - UNC Pembroke recorded a pair of goals in the first half and added two more in the second, as Brevard College fell in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Winthrop University, 4-0.
The Braves (5-0-0) struck first at the 34:15 mark as Sam Miles drove in a shot from the left side after collecting the bounce off a defender to put UNC Pembroke up 1-0.
UNC Pembroke added another goal in the first half as Alex Antonescu took advantage of a miscommunication in the box between Brevard (0-4-1) goalkeeper Jack Shaw and a defender, slipping the ball into the right side of the net off the pass from Paul Freeman.
Brett Luccia added a goal early in the second half and Miles collected his second of the game in the second half to give Pembroke the 4-0 advantage.
The Tornados threatened to get on the board late as Tommi Rasinmaki saw a shot hit off the crossbar, but Brevard was unable to find the back of the net in falling, 4-0.
Brevard opens South Atlantic Conference action this weekend on the road as they travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. to take on Carson-Newman. Kickoff between the Tornados and the Eagles is set for 5 p.m.
