Rock Hill, S.C. - Brevard College sophomore forward Darius Moose was selected as the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the SAC office on Monday afternoon.
Moose averaged 25 points and 8.5 rebounds in Brevard’s two games last week. On Wednesday at Newberry, the sophomore scored 19 points on eight-of-12 shooting in addition to recording four steals for the Tornados in a losing effort.
He followed that up with a dominant performance on Saturday as Brevard handed Anderson its first SAC loss of the season.
Moose went nine-of-12 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line against the Trojans to finish with a career-high 31 points. He also pulled down nine rebounds in the upset victory.
On the week, Moose shot an efficient 70.8 percent from the field and 80-percent from the free-throw line.
The Tornados men’s basketball team continues their 2011-2012 season Monday night on the road as Brevard travels to Young Harris, Ga. to take on the Young Harris Mountain Lions. Tipoff between the two teams in the YHC Basketball Arena is set for 7 p.m.
