Tigerville, S.C. - The Brevard College women’s team set new team records at the Cherokee Valley Invitational, posting a two round score of 725, as the Tornados finished third overall in the six team field.
Brevard shot 376 in the first round and then made a 26 stroke improvement on day two as the team finished their first tournament in the team’s short program history with two rounds in the 300s.
Alisiya Klochkova led the Tornados in the tournament, finishing just outside the top 10, bouncing back from scoring a 90 in the first round to cut eight strokes from her total as the senior from Moscow, Russia finished with a two-round score of 172, tying with Jacqueline McCormick of Mars Hill to finish in 11th.
Marliana Garman tied Klochkova for the low round for the Tornados in the tournament, bouncing back from a first round 95 to shoot a second day 82, cutting 13 strokes from her total to finish 14th overall in the event.
Allie Hovis was also in the top 20 for the Tornados, placing 19th overall, while recording her lowest round with the Tornados. Hovis recorded a first round 96 and went under 90 in the second round, carding an 89 on day two for a two round score of 185.
Emily Smith finished inside the top 25, playing 23rd overall with a 191 for the tournament, while Ashley Allen rounded out the group 28th individually with a score of 214.
