Brevard opens season on September 1st against Presbyterian

Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College Head Football Coach Paul Hamilton, in conjunction with the BC Sports Information Department, is pleased to release the 2012 BC football schedule.

Brevard will play a full 11 game slate in the 2012 season, featuring six home games in the friendly confines of Brevard Memorial Stadium in Brevard, N.C., while the Tornados will be on the road for five games, including the season opening road trip to take on NCAA Division I Presbyterian College.

Brevard finished the 2011 season with a 3-8 record in their fourth season as full members of the NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference, with victories over Johnson C. Smith, Southern Virginia and Tusculum in the season.

Brevard opens the season on the road, making the trip to Clinton, S.C. and Bailey Memorial Stadium as the Tornados take on Presbyterian College for the first time since the 1940s when the two schools were both junior colleges. The Tornados will take on the Blue Hose at Bailey Memorial Stadium on September 1st.

The Tornados will also take on another newcomer in the 2012 season as Brevard welcomes CIAA member Virginia Union University to Brevard Memorial Stadium for their 2012 home opener. Kickoff between the Tornados and the Panthers is set for September 8th.

Brevard opens South Atlantic Conference play a week later against Mars Hill College as the Tornados travel to Meares Stadium to take on the Lions in their SAC opener. Kickoff between Brevard and Mars Hill is set for September 15th.

Brevard returns home to Brevard Memorial the following weekend, remaining in conference play as the Tornados welcome Wingate University to the field in front of the Brevard faithful on September 22nd.

Tusculum welcomes the Tornados to the Niswonger Sports Complex and Pioneer Field to end the month of September as the Pioneers host Brevard on September 29th, but Brevard returns home for the following two weeks, hosting SAC opponent Lenoir-Rhyne on October 6th and non-conference opponent Southern Virginia on October 13th.

Brevard closes out the month of October with a road contest on October 20th against North Greenville University and a SAC home contest against Carson-Newman College as the Eagles travel to Brevard, N.C. on October 27th.

The Tornados finish their 2012 road schedule in Salisbury, N.C. at Shuford Stadium as Brevard takes on Catawba College on November 3rd. BC closes out the regular season at home with Senior Day at Brevard Memorial Stadium against the Newberry Wolves on November 10th.
