White Lake, N.C. - The Brevard College men’s golf team completed the rain-shortened two round Carolina Sands Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon at the Carolina Sands Golf Club, finishing the final round with a 10th place result, third among SAC schools who took on the field.
Kim Koivu finished the second round with the lowest score for the Tornados, finishing the event with a 71 on the final day to pace the Tornados efforts.
T.J. Hoard and Diego Ortiz matched each other in the second round with 76s, with Hoard finishing the tournament with a final tally of 150 on the event, sitting in a tie for 38th overall in the tournament. Ortiz finished with a 153 overall on the tournament, tying for 48th overall.
Michael Stamper and Thomas Rennie both recorded matching final round scores of 80 to round out the group in the tournament for Coach David Nelson as Stamper tied for 52nd overall with a two-round total of 154. Rennie finished 65th overall in the tournament, finishing with a 158 to end the day for the Tornados.
Brevard returns to the golf course as the Tornados host the Aramark Collegiate Invitational on April 9-10.
