Bristol, Tenn.- The BC women’s soccer team lost a 2-0 match to the King College Tornado Wednesday afternoon in Bristol, Tennessee.
King College got things going early, taking a 1-0 when Rachel Thorpe headed in a Monica Aguirre corner kick at 14:38. Aguirre then found the back of the net at the 22:01 mark on a feed into the middle by Thorpe.
Brevard went into the half down 2-0, but showed great resiliency. The Tornados were extremely active offensively, putting a season-high seven shots on goal against King, including six in the second half.
Freshmen Taylor Hembree and Clair Deese, who both scored a
pair of goals against Virginia Intermont on Saturday, combined for five shots
on goal to lead BC. Chantel Azevedo and Lizzie Graham also recorded shots on goal for Brevard.
Junior goalkeeper Brittany Webster played all 90 minutes in
goal for Brevard and recorded five saves.
The Tornados return home on Saturday to host the USC Aiken Pacers at 2 p.m.
