Greenville, S.C.- The Brevard College men's and women's cross country teams were in action on Saturday at the Furman Invitational, with the men taking 6th place while the women earned 5th.
Patrick Helmick paced the men with a time of 16:15.79, which was good enough for 18th place. Dakota Poindexter and Jordan Tager also finished in the top 25.
"The men did a good job of competing today, we had some personal best performances," head coach Thomas Cason. "I am excited to watch our team continue to improve over the upcoming weeks."
Hannah Cook led the women with a 9th place finish and a time of 19:35.88. The freshman was trailed closely by teammate Angela Canale, who finished 10th with a time of 19:42.76.
"All the women ran season best times, it was a great team performance," added Cason. "We are getting healthy and running fast at the right time of the season."
Both cross country squads are back to work this week on their home turf as they take on North Greeneville on Thursday, October 11th in the Brevard College Invitational. The race starts at 5:15 pm.
