Charlotte, N.C.- Freshman Hannah Cook paced the Tornados with a 23rd place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday, earning a spot on the NCAA Southeast All-Region Team. The women’s cross country team finished 18th at the event, while the men took 19th.
The 18th place finish for the women’s team is their best in school history. Cook finished the 3K track at McAlpine Creek Park in 11:32.1, followed closely by teammate Angela Canale at 11:43.5. The junior placed 44th in the region.
The men’s cross country team finished 19th, and had three individual finishers in the top 100. Patrick Helmick finished the 5K course in 17:18.5 at 85th, followed closely by Jordan Tager at 88th and Josh Mower at 97th.
