Jackson, Tenn.- The Brevard College Tornados dropped a 70-50 contest to the Union University Bulldogs in the Union Lady Bulldog Classic on Friday night.
Seniors Asheley Watkins and Tempestt Mack combined for 20 points to lead the Tornados.
Brevard’s only lead of the game came less than a minute into the game when Alyssa Cutshaw hit a three-pointer to give the Tornados a 3-2 advantage. Union responded with a 29-2 run, and took a 44-23 lead into the half.
BC cut the Union lead to 13 on a jumper from Mack with 8:11 remaining in the half, but the Bulldogs answered with eight straight points to push their lead to 21.
The Bulldogs shot a scorching 50 percent from three-point range, connecting on 13-of 26 attempts from beyond the arc. Union had five players score in double figures, led by 12 points from both Kelsey Risner and Amber Rechis.
The Tornados will square up with Delta State on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m to as part of the Union Lady Bulldog Classic.
