Greenville, S.C.- The Brevard College Tornados fell 76-53 in an exhibition game with the Furman University Paladins in Timmons Arena on Monday night.
Brevard’s frontcourt got into foul trouble early, allowing the Paladins to work the ball into the paint offensively.
Six-foot-nine forward Colin Reddick dropped in 17 points to lead all scorers, hitting 7-of-9 from the floor while pulling down a game-high eight rebounds. The senior also had four assists.
Senior forward Bryant Irwin also scored 15 points for Furman in helping the Paladins outscore Brevard 36-26 in the paint. Furman shot 50 percent (27-54) from the field on the night.
The Tornados fell behind 9-2 to start the game before putting together a 10-2 run to go up 12-11. The Paladins used a 19-5 run to jump in front of BC.
Brevard battled to move within six of Furman on a Gerel Simmons layup with 3:30 left in the first half, but the Paladins closed the first half with nine straight points to go into the break up 15.
BC struggled to make up any ground after halftime and the Paladins were able to extend their lead early in the second half.
Freshman Manzey Miller impressed again for BC, lead the Tornados with 13 points and six rebounds. Dominique Pickett and Miles Leathers also scored in double figures for the Tornados, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Tornados return to action as they visit the Radford University Highlanders on Wednesday afternoon.
