Young Harris, Ga. – The Brevard College Tornados fell to the Young Harris Mountain Lions in 74-50 in nonconference action at YHC Basketball Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions got off to a quick start thanks to some hot shooting early, jumping out to a 17-5 lead after hitting eight of their first 11 shots from the floor.
Young Harris kept BC at bay for the rest of the first half, and took a 36-26 lead into the half.
Senior Candice Fritz scored six straight points to open the second half to bring the Tornados within four at points 36-32, but Ladondra Johnson answered with four straight points to swell the Young Harris lead to eight.
The 6-0 run is as close as the Tornados would come to leading, and the Mountain Lions worked the ball inside to increase their advantage in the second half. Young Harris outscored BC 49-19 in the paint on the afternoon.
Freshman Tuccoa Brackett led the BC offense with 12 points, while Micheala Watkins finished with 10.
