Brevard, N.C.-The Catawba College Indians swept a rescheduled doubleheader from the Brevard College Tornados on Tuesday afternoon, edging BC 2-0 in the opener before taking game two 9-0 in five innings.

Game 1: Catawba 2, Brevard 0
Carley Tysinger tossed a complete-game shutout for Catawba as the Indians scored two runs in the top of the 3rd to seal the win.
Tysinger (W, 19-6) allowed just one hit, a one-out single by Brittany Fowler in the bottom of the 7th, while striking out six over seven innings.

Catawba’s Mollie Kovalcin had an RBI single to put the Indians on the board in the top of the 3rd before Tara Gibbs singled in Kovalcin to put Catawba up 2-0.

Kayla Clemens (L, 4-10) pitched a complete game for the Tornados, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out 10.

Game 2: Catawba 9, Brevard 0
Leading 3-0 through four innings, Catawba used a six-run 5th inning to get a run-rule shortened win in the second game. 
Kelsey Burgess started the 5th with an RBI double.  She would later score on a wild pitch, as did Gina Gerone. To cap the scoring, Amanda Terry delivered a three-run double with the bases loaded. 

Alyssa Miller (L, 3-5) allowed eight earned runs on six hits and five walks over 4.2 innings on the hill. Jamie Hrobak got the final out in the 5th, but not without surrendering a run of her own.

Tysinger (W, 20-6) also pitched a complete-game shutout in game two, holding BC to just two hits in the nightcap.

The Tornados are back in action as they travel to Wingate for a doubleheader with the Bulldogs beginning at 2 p.m on Wednesday.
