Salisbury, N.C.- Brevard's Johannes Kloster paired with David Taggart to win the number one doubles match before Kloster won his singles match on the first court in the Tornados 6-3 loss to the Catawba College Indians at the Johnson Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
Kloster and Taggart handled Catawba’s Alex Macdonald and Matthew Nicholson on the first doubles court to start the afternoon, but the Indians took the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead going into singles play. The win improved Kloster and Taggart to 2-3 as a pair in South Atlantic Conference doubles action this season.
Kloster then handed Macdonald a 6-1, 6-3 loss in the number one singles match to improve to 3-3 in conference singles action in 2013.
George Finch also prevailed in singles play for Brevard, defeating Mitchell McDonald in three sets on the fourth singles court, 6-1, 2-6, 14-12. Finch moves to 2-4 in conference singles play this year.
The Tornados are back in action as they visit the Pioneers of Tusculum College for a match at the Nichols Tennis Complex on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
