BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College volleyball team wrapped their three-game home stand with a 3-0 loss to the Carson-Newman Eagles in Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles hit a season-high .440 en route to the victory, taking the sets 25-18, 25-22, and 25-16. Carson-Newman improves to 9-9 (4-7 SAC) on the year, while the Tornados fall to 4-11 (1-10 SAC) in 2013.
Carson-Newman’s Rachel Harper delivered a game-high 14 kills, trailed closely by Kiayna O'Neal’s 10 kills to lead the Eagles.
Joy Oswalt had a team-high nine kills for BC, while Fatima Gharachorloo had a game-high 10 digs defensively for the Tornados.
Carson-Newman completes a stretch of five straight road affairs when the Eagles travel to Tusculum for a midweek tilt against Tusculum Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Brevard begins a stretch of three consecutive road matches on Friday night as they visit Queens for a 7 p.m. start from Curry Arena.
