BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 11 Lenoir-Rhyne in a South Atlantic Conference match Wednesday afternoon at Brevard Soccer Field in Brevard, N.C.

The Bears (12-3-1, 8-1-1 SAC) clinched a share of the regular season title while winning their ninth out of their last 10 matches. The Tornados (3-12-1, 0-9-1 SAC) saw their winless streak reach 13 while falling in their home finale.

L-R pressured BC most of the afternoon and broke a scoreless tie in the 37th minute when Garcelle Alequine connected on a 30-yard blast into the upper right 90 to put the Bears up 1-0.

BC’s Clair Deese nearly tied it in the 51st minute when she propelled a header towards the net but L-R’s Andrea Leano was able to make the save.

In the 69th minute, Emmi Dunn helped the Bears extend their lead when she drilled home a header following a corner kick from Brianna Belsky.

L-R racked up 25 shots, including 15 in the second half while BC was only able to muster two, both off the foot of Deese.

Senior Brittany Webster impressed with seven saves while Leano made one.

The Tornados conclude their 2013 season when they travel to Coker in a SAC match Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Hartsville, S.C.
