BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team will make history on Wednesday at 4 p.m. as they step on the field against the Lees-McRae Bobcats in a highly anticipated inaugural season.
Since early January, the team has been preparing for the season working with a core of experienced players combined with some beginners.
“Everyone has been working so hard,” spoke Head Coach Frank Rogers. “They are ready to step on the field and line up against another team.”
This will be the first game of the season for the Bobcats after weather postponed their game against Tennessee Wesleyan on February 19th. Lees-McRae established a team in 2008 in the Conference Carolinas.
The Tornados will be anchored in goal by Brianna Bangle (St. Paul, Minn.) while teammates Madison Ellis (Peterborough, Ontario) and Julia Gasston (Auckland, New Zealand) play up field. Melissa Harris and Emily Medvedeff will also contribute to the experienced players on field.
Brevard will also include two crossover athletes from the Tornados soccer team, Mackenzie Williams and Megyn Terrell.
All home games will be played on campus at the Brevard Lacrosse Field, surrounded by the track.
