Brevard, N.C. - With the holidays coming up, the Brevard College softball team reached out to the community, volunteering at the Bread of Life on November 13th and 20th.
The Tornados were given a tour of the Bread of Life facility and helped in food preparation during their two days at the organization.
The Bread of Life is a non-profit organization that works closely with the sharing house and with churches in the community to provide food to those in need. The organization spends two days a week to prepare food to serve for the rest of the week. The Bread of Life serves food to an average of 150 people per day and will not turn anyone who comes in away.
The Bread of Life receives donations from people within the community and does not accept anything from outside sources. For more information on how to contact the Bread of Life, contact softball head coach Britne Stubbs at (828) 884-8346.
The softball team will continue to reach out to the community as they are planning to adopt a family for Christmas, and are excited about other possibilities to reach out and help others.
