YOUNG HARRIS, G.A.- Mathew Dropuljic contributed six goals towards the Brevard College (2-2) men’s lacrosse 11-10 win over Young Harris (1-4) on Wednesday, February 26 at the Mountain Lions lacrosse field.
Three man-up opportunities allowed Brevard to get into scoring position during the second quarter and go up 5-1. Dropuljic started the 3 goal run after receiving the ball off a face-off possession at the 14:39 mark then teammate Blair Alexandersen placed in a quick shot at the 14:09 mark. Dropuljic anchored the run with another goal off a pass from Andrew Bonnie on a man-up opportunity at the 13:14 mark.
Both teams faced some foul trouble during the game totaling 9:30 for Brevard and seven minutes for Young Harris.
Tornados goalie, Andrew Reilly ended the game with 17 saves exceeding his season high of 15 saves from Brevard’s game against Shorter University on February 22.
Brevard’s Al Blackman placed in their last goal of the game at the 9:26 mark of the fourth quarter while the Mountain Lions Ryan Ningard attempted to take the lead for his team with a three goal run in the last five minutes of the game.
Al Blackman led the team with two assists and went four for eight on face-offs while teammate Kodi Roberts finished seven for twelve on face-off possession.
The Tornados will travel to Catawba this Saturday for a face-off time at 1:00 p.m.
