SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Brevard College track & field team opened their outdoor season at Savannah State University for the Savannah State Tiger Relays on Saturday.
The Women Distance Medley included Heidi Kaartinen, China Davis, Ashley Lowe and Angela Canale. The group finished in third place during the race but recorded a new school record of 13:15.41.
Josh Mower was highlighted as a top performer for the Tornados after winning in the 5000m with a PR of 15:30.37.

“Chris showed the competitive spirit and determination I look for,” Coach Malloy expressed, “He did not create an excuse for himself based on his limited training.”
Additionally, Raphael Jordan finished in second for the Long Jump recording 6.49 meters. Peter Woerner placed second for Shot Put at 10.68 meters and 31.09 meters in Discus. Micah Voelzow also landed a second place spot after reaching 1.70 meters in the men’s High Jump.
