HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Brevard women’s tennis team won 9-0 over Northwestern College while competing in the third day of the Spring TennisFest on March 4th in Hilton Head, S.C.
Ana Drummond anchored the singles play in the No.6 spot against the Red Raiders McKayla Johnson winning 6-2 in both sets. Drummond competed in doubles with teammate Jule Hermann winning 8-1 over the Northwestern pair.
Hermann finished her day with 6-0, 6-2 win over Hannah Stark while teammate Claudia Hellman hosted the most competitive set at No.4 singles against Alex Brower winning 7-6 and then 6-3 in the second.
Michelle Prata was chosen to be at No.1 singles for the early morning match winning 6-3 and 6-4 against Frankie Eszes. Prata played Eszes and Brower earlier in the match with her doubles partner Katie Daughtery to win 8-2.
Northwestern’s Valerie Robinson and Amanda Bueltel fell to Brevard’s Nirvanna Silva and Claudia Hellman in an 8-3 doubles set.
The Tornados will have a day of rest then compete on March 6th at 8:00 a.m. against Malone University.
