DUE WEST, S.C.- The Brevard College (0-4, 0-1 SAC) women's lacrosse team lost 19-0 while traveling to Erskine College (4-3) on Saturday, March 8 at Huggins Fields.
The Tornados held Erskine to five goals during the second half of play but were unable to put any goals on the board for BC.
Melissa Harris tried keeping Brevard in the game by blocking 20 of the 39 shots on goal.
Draw Control was dominated by the Flying Fleet with Erskine coming up with 16 while Brevard was only able to capture five.
During the 23:03 mark of the second half Brevard was given a scoring opportunity after Erskine fouled within the eight meter and gave the Tornados Jamila Brown a shot off the free position. The shot was deflected and picked up by Heather Morris but was forced into a turnover by Erskine’s Marley Llinas.
Emily Medvedeff took two additional shots on goal but wasn’t able to find the white behind goalkeeper Paige Elder.
Groundballs were close to even by the end of the game with Brevard coming up with 24 and Erskine finishing with 28.
Brevard will host Wingate at Brevard Lacrosse Field for a match up at noon on Saturday, March 15.
