BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (0-9, 0-3 SAC) women’s lacrosse team Lenoir-Rhyne on April 5 at the Tornados lacrosse field, resulting in a 19-1 loss for BC against the second ranked SAC team.
The Bears gained a large lead on the Tornados to begin the game, ending in a 16 goal lead for the first half. Brevard was able to answer back with one goal after Madison Ellis received the ball on a free position. The shot bounced over goalkeeper, Bailey Leonard, and into the goal for Brevard’s only goal of the game.
Brevard was able to hold Lenoir-Rhyne to only two goals and four shots in the second half. The Bears were led by numerous teammates including four with three goals each.
Julia Gasston helped BC gain control of the ball off the draw and in the midfield completing the game with six groundballs.
The Tornados switched goalies after Brianna Bangle saved 13 shots on goal. Melissa Harris replaced Bangle in the position and was only faced with 3 shots on goal resulting in one save.
Brevard will return home to play the rescheduled game against Coker College this Wednesday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m.
