MISENHEIMER, N.C.- The Brevard College baseball team handled the Pfeiffer Falcons 4-1 at Joe Ferebee Field on Thursday afternoon on the shoulders of a complete game from senior Kevin Hamilton.
The righty tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts while scattering seven hits to hold Pfeiffer to one run, which came on an RBI single from Tyler Summers in the bottom of the 3rd.
BC got off to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd on Billy O’Hara’s two-run to single to score Brock Helton and Matthew Proffitt. Helton singled to start the inning before stealing second base prior to a Proffitt walk.
After the Falcons made it a one-run game in the 3rd, the Tornados responded with two more runs in the top of the 4th. Helton and Proffitt again set the table, working back-to-back walks, for a two-run single off the bat of Chad Fisher.
The Tornados had 10 hits on the afternoon, marking their 15th game this season with a double-digit number in the hit column.
The Tornados continue nonconference action on Saturday afternoon as they play a neutral site doubleheader with Chowan Hawks at Finch Field in Thomasville, North Carolina. First pitch of the opener is set for 2 p.m.
