GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Brevard College women’s and men’s track and field participated in the Blue Shoes Collegiate Meet at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. from April 11- April 12.
Joshua Grinstead highlighted the meet for BC after finishing first in the fourth heat at the men’s 200 meter dash. He finished at 24.00 in the preliminary then increased his time at 23.39 for the finals. Kayce Martin also finished in first place for the second heat of the men’s 400 meter hurdles. Martin finished at 58.80 in the preliminary and 59.71 in the finals. He finished at sixth place overall in the event.
Also on the men’s side, Raphael Jordan competed in the 110 meter hurdles for the Tornados. Jordan finished in second at 14.85 in the preliminary round then 15.46 for the final.
Kadijah Watts competed for the women’s team during the 200 meter dash. Watts finished at second place for the fourth heat at 28.25. She continued into the finals increasing her time at 28.12 and finishing at 15th overall for the event.
Angela Canale competed in the women’s one mile run for the Tornados and finished in third placed during the second heat and 16th place overall for the event. Her preliminary time put her at 5.46.00 and her final time finished at 5:59.74. Teammate Elena Raygoza finished moments behind Canale at fifth place for the second heat at 5:57.00. Raygoza recorded a 6:04.62 time for the final round, placing her at 18th overall. Madison Smith finished at 11th place during the one mile for BC.
The Tornados will compete next at the Penn Relays on April 24 in Philadelphia, Pa.
