BREVARD, N.C.- The Erskine College Flying Fleet scored four runs over the final two innings to take a 9-5 victory over Brevard College at Gil Coan Field on Wednesday afternoon in the Tornados 2014 home finale.
Erskine scored four runs (three earned) over their final two at-bats against the tandem of Dustin Haithcox (L, 3-3) and Kevin Hamilton to break a 5-5 tie, plating two runs in the 8th and two more in the 9th.
After falling behind 5-3 in the 6th, the Tornados tied the game at 5-5 in the 7th when Will O’Hara singled in a run and Hunter Donaldson scored on a double play ball.
The Tornados took an early 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 1st on back-to-back homers by Matthew Proffitt and Eric Renegar. Proffit’s two-run shot erased a 1-0 lead for the Flying Fleet before Renegar’s blast gave BC a two-run advantage.

The Tornados will conclude their season with a three-game series against conference foe Coker College this weekend. First pitch of Friday’s opener at Tom J. New Field is set for 3 p.m.
