Thomas Bush cards the low round for the Tornados at 1-under, 71

Carrollton, Ga. - The Tornados headed down to warmer weather to play in the University of West Georgia Invitational held at the Sunset Hills Country Club. Brevard sat in fourth after day one, one stroke behind Georgia Southwestern, but the team rallied on day two to finish third in the tournament, 25 strokes behind tournament winner West Georgia.

Brevard finished with a two-day total of 582, +14 for the par 71 golf course.

Grant Carnie led the Tornados, shooting even par in day one and a 73 on the second day to finish eighth in the tournament with +2, 144, nine strokes behind tournament medalist Nelson Alvarez.

Joshua Davis improved on a first day 75, 4-over to shooting a 72 to finish in a tie for 12th with Georgia Southwestern’s Adam McKenney and Flagler’s Greg Della-Pietra and Joel Dahlenburg.

Bret McGaughey carded a two day total of 148, 6-over for the tournament to finish in 16th and Thomas Rennie finished with a 150 for 19th.

Thomas Bush made the biggest improvement in the field from day one to day two, shooting an 82, +11 on the first day of the UWG Invitational. On the second day, Bush shot a 70, 1-under for the day to finish as the only Tornado to post a round under par for the tournament to finish in a tie for 20th.

The Tornados take a week off before heading to White Lake, N.C. to take part in the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate Tournament.
