Greeneville, Tenn. - With snow and rain falling on the golf course during day two of the Agnes McAmis Memorial Women’s Golf Invitational, the tournament directors were forced to cancel second round play, leaving the teams to finish with their first round totals. The Brevard College women’s golf team fielded a full team for the first time this spring and finished in 16th, ahead of Tiffin University and Concord University.
The Tornados women’s golf team consisting of Alisiya Klochkova, Lucy McNulty, Erika Kellems and Jessica Guadagno combined to shoot a one day total of 389. Belmont Abbey took home the title for the second year in a row, carding a team total of 310.
Klochkova led the Tornados, shooting a 41 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine to finish in a tie for 23rd with Carson-Newman’s Caitlin Fortner and Mars Hill’s Samantha Patton.
McNulty finished two strokes behind Klochkova, carding an 86, 14-over for the tournament to tie for 35th.
Kellems and Guadagno rounded out the group for the Tornados, with Kellems recording a 107 to tie for 88th and Guadagno, in her first action of the 2009 golf season, shot an opening round total of 112 to finish in 91st.
