Rising senior led SAC in tackles per game last season

Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College rising senior linebacker Stanley Jones has been named Honorable Mention 2009 Division II Preseason All-American by Consensus Draft Services, it was announced today. Jones is the first Tornado football player to earn All-American honors of any kind.

Last season, the Spartanburg, S.C. native led the South Atlantic Conference with 9.8 tackles per game and finished the season with 98 total tackles. Included in his fine season were a 21-tackle game against Lenoir-Rhyne on September 27 and an 18-tackle game against Carson-Newman on October 24.

Jones is one of ten SAC players to receive the honor. Catawba offensive lineman Terence Crosby and Tusculum punter John Gregory are First Team selections, while Tusculum tight end Jarrell NeSmith is on the Second Team.
