Brevard, N.C. - Recently, a member of the BC Tornados family was diagnosed with non-seminomas cancer in late February. Adam Cordell, a sophomore offensive lineman at Brevard, has been taking chemotherapy treatments at the Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia and is scheduled to have surgery this summer up in Indiana.
Cordell has been a vital member of the football team at Brevard College, having played in 16 games in his two years at Brevard.
Due to complications with his lungs, Cordell is currently being treated at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
With the large amount of medical expenses his family is incurring, the Brevard College Athletic Department, in conjunction with the BC football team and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is putting together a fundraiser to help the Cordell family in their time of need.
Bracelets have been designed with Adam’s middle name, Wingo, his number and the biblical reference 2 Samuel 22:31-51, are being sold at this time for the fund.
All excess funds will be donated toward continued research for a cure for cancer.
For those willing to make a donation, please make your checks payable to Brevard College and be sure to reference “The Adam Fund” on your check.
For more information, contact either the Brevard Athletic Department at (828) 884-8276 or Susan Mitchell at (803) 487-6125.
