Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College Athletic Department and Director of Athletics, Kim Pate, are pleased to announce the hiring of Seth Montgomery as the new Sport Information Director for the Tornados. Montgomery served as the Interim SID this past spring in conjunction with Rob Walden.
During this past semester at Brevard College, Montgomery was the main contact for volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, women’s basketball, softball and cycling. He also served as an alternate color commentator for BC football, basketball and baseball games.
“We are excited for Seth Montgomery to assume the role of Sports Information Director full-time,” said Director of Athletics, Kim Pate. “He has done a great job for BC Athletics this past year and I am looking forward to seeing him put his many talents to work for Tornado Athletics.”
“I appreciate the opportunity presented to me by Athletic Director Kim Pate,” commented Montgomery. “I look forward to working with the coaches and staff here at Brevard College and I'm excited about being able to work with the Tornados athletics program as it continues to grow and compete in the South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II.”
Montgomery started his work in Sport Information as a student-assistant at North Greenville University, where he worked with the football and baseball teams as both a statistician and radio color commentator.
He also served as the main media contact for the Spartanburg Stingers baseball team in the Coastal Plains Wood Bat League in 2007, serving as the statistician and radio alternate.
Prior to coming to Brevard, Montgomery worked as a media intern at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tournament at the Bay Hill Country Club in Orlando, Fla. in 2008.
In addition to his sport information work, Montgomery is also a member of CoSIDA.
