WOMEN'S TENNIS SIGNS ANOTHER FOR 2009-2010

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College Athletic Department and Coach Paul Thomson are pleased to announce the commitment of Sara Elise Labus to attend Brevard College and play tennis for the 2009-2010 season.

Labus, a 5-5 athlete from Dunwoody, Ga., lettered all four years in high school at Dunwoody High School under Thomas McFerrin and Roger Gay. The daughter of James and Louise Labus, Elise played #1 singles as a Wildcat.

"Elise is going to make a solid addition to our program," Coach Thomson commented. "She likes to grind it out on the court and keeps a lot of balls in play. Elise will come in with a strong work ethic and add depth to our lineup."

The Tornados women's tennis team went 17-6, 5-3 in the SAC, earning the #4 seed in the 2009 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tennis Championships where they defeated Mars Hill and Tusculum before falling to Carson-Newman in the Championship match, during their inaugural season as members of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference.
