Brevard, N.C. - Coach Michael Jones and the Brevard College Athletic Department are pleased to announce the commitment of both Drew Schauss and Josh Jordan to attend Brevard College and play on the men’s basketball team in 2009-2010.
Schauss, a combo guard/forward, comes to Brevard by way of Greensford, Ind., where he played under Coach Ryan Chiddister at Centerville High School. The 6-4 athlete was an All-Area and All-Conference selection for all four years of high school, scoring 1,513 points as a Bulldog, and finishing second on the all-time career scoring list at Centerville. In his junior campaign, Schauss finished with a 22.7 ppg average and 6.9 rpg. Schauss was selected to the North/South All-Star game in his senior year.
Off the courts, Schauss was an Academic All-State recipient and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Jordan comes to the Tornados from West Los Angeles College, located in Culver City, Calif. A 6-5 combo guard/forward, Jordan averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game as a Wildcat and was a junior college 3-stripes honorable mention.
Prior to West Los Angeles College, the Inglewood, Calif. Native played at Hawthorne High School, averaging 16 ppg and 11 rpg. During his four years, Jordan was a 3-time all-league recipient and led his team to an undefeated season.
The Tornados men’s basketball team went 12-15, 3-13 in conference play, in their first season as full members of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference.
