Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College men’s cross country team had a number of strong individual performances on Friday afternoon, as they competed against Southern Wesleyan University in the Brevard College Invitational on the campus of Brevard College.
The Tornados defeated the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan, as they placed three individuals in the top-five overall.
Senior Harrison Vicini paced the Tornados as he finished in second-place overall with a time of 31:50. Fellow teammate junior Brandon Hopkins finished right on the heels of Vicini, as he took third-place with a time of 32:16.
Freshman Tiffen Tapia had a strong performance on Friday, as he turned in a time of 32:21, good enough for fourth-place overall.
Rounding out the scoring for the Tornados was sophomore Zach Hazen who finished with a time of 33:28, good enough for sixth-place, while freshman Gary Stephenson crossed the line in ninth-place with a time of 34:07.
The Warriors Dewey Rowland took first-place in the event, finishing just ahead of Vicini with a time of 31:20.
The Brevard College Invitational meet was the last meet of the season for the Tornados.
