Brevard, N.C. - Lucy McNulty rallied from a two-stroke deficit to take medalist honors in the Tornados women's golf team's first tournament of the 2009 season. The sophomore from Argyll, Scotland shot a two-round score of 164, bettering her first day score of 85 with a school record 79 in capturing the Tornados first individual title of the season.
As a team, Brevard lowered their team school record, set on Monday, by 14 strokes, as the Tornados carded a 365. Macy Kottyan shot a personal-best 84 on the second day, with Alice Klochkova (97), Jenn Brown (105) and Katie Brown (118) contributing scores to the team effort.
Brevard is back in action this weekend as the Tornados participate in the Women's Independent Collegiate Invitational Tournament, hosted at the Etowah Valley Country Club, in nearby Etowah, N.C.
