WALKER NAMED FULL-TIME HEAD MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CYCLING COACH

Brevard, N.C. - Thad Walker has been named full-time head Men’s and Women’s Cycling Coach for the Brevard College Tornados following a one-year stint as a part-time coach at the college. Walker is responsible for starting up the program in 2006-07, which now competes in a variety of venues.

A graduate of Brevard College and an avid cyclist, Thad has raced and worked in the bike industry for the last six years. He is eager to share his experience and passion for cycling as he will continue to help build a strong and successful program at Brevard College.

“We are thrilled to have Coach Thad Walker join our athletics staff full-time and appreciate all the hard work and effort he’s put into getting this unique varsity sport up and running,” commented Interim Athletic Director Kim Pate.  “Thad has a solid vision for the program as well as the passion and motivation necessary to build a nationally recognized competitive cycling program.”

This season the cycling program has experienced immediate success as the team made a Nationals appearance and had strong second-place finish from Tristan Cowie.
