Brevard, N.C. – Brevard College volleyball player, Brooke Seaman has been named the Tornado Athlete of the week for the second time this year commanding 61% of the 77 votes in week 5.
Seaman, a 5’10 senior Middle hitter from Spring Hill, Fla., had 27 kills, a 31.7 hitting percentage, 13 total blocks, and 2 service aces, as the Tornados go 2-1 on week including their first SAC win of the season over Catawba 3-0.
Other nominees this week were football’s reigning Tornado Athlete of the Week, Michael Gist, who received 22.1% of the votes after recording 8 tackles, and an interception that he returned 20 yards for a TD in the Tornados first conference win over Lenoir-Rhyne, football’s Eric Watts received 10.4% of the votes, punting nine times for 360 yards total, and a 40 yard average, as well as three punts that were over 50 yards and down inside the 20 yard line, cross-country’s Matthew Crow who finished first in the Southern Wesleyan Warrior Invitational with a time of 28:49, received 5.2% of votes, and men’s soccer player Renato Barbosa received 1.3% of votes for his goal against Lenior-Rhyne.

Week 1 - Brooke Seaman, Volleyball (34 kills, 41.3% hitting percentage, 13 total blocks, six service aces as Tornados go 3-0 on the week)
Week 2 - Bailey Varley, Women's Soccer (Three goals, including the game winner in double overtime as the Tornados advanced to 3-0)
Week 3 – Stanley Jones, Football (16 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, as the Tornados move to 3-0 on the season)
Week 4 – Michael Gist, Football (5 tackles, 2 interceptions, including one he ran back 87 yards for a TD
Week 5 – Brooke Seaman Volleyball (27 kills, 31.7 hitting percentage, 13 total blocks, 2 service aces as the Tornados go 2-1 on the week)
