Central, S.C. - The Warriors scored a goal in each half, while the Tornados, despite shooting on frame six of seven times, failed to register a goal Tuesday night as they fell to Southern Wesleyan 2-0 on the road.
With the non-conference loss, the Tornados fall to 6-9 on the year, while Southern Wesleyan improves to 8-2-2.
The Warriors scored their first goal halfway through the first half on a Katie Sullivan goal assisted by Rosy Escobar and Meghan Bullock. Escobar assisted on Southern Wesleyan’s second goal as well when she connected with Bullock who headed in a goal with twenty six minutes remaining in the game to put the Warriors up 2-0.
Sydney Douglas saved five of seven for the Tornados, while Alyssa Caracena led the offensive attack with two shots, both on goal.
The Tornados will return to action on Friday when Mars Hill makes the short trip to Brevard for a 4 p.m. conference game.
