Hickory, N.C. - Chelsea Larsen and Brooke Seaman each had 11 kills for the Tornados Friday night in Shuford Gymnasium, but Brevard was unable to overcome an early deficit in falling, 25-16, 25-13, 20-25 and 25-21.
With the loss, the Tornados fall to 11-10, 1-9 in the South Atlantic Conference, while the Bears improve to 16-9, 3-6 in conference play.
Ashlie Morrison added eight kills for the Tornados attack, while Bethany Stevenson set up the Brevard attack with 31 set assists.
On the defensive side, the Tornados were led by Rebecca Schoonover with 20 digs in the contest, while Seaman added five blocks at the net.
The Bears were led by the trio of Cayla Crawley, Chelsea Hill and Kassi Henry who each recorded double-digit kill efforts with Crawley and Hill recording 12 apiece and Henry coming in with 10.
Meredith Lutz set up the L-R attack, while Marrissa Church led the team with 21 digs on the backline.
Brevard takes the rest of the weekend off, before the Tornados are back in action on Wednesday, October 21st as they host Wingate University in a South Atlantic Conference matchup in Boshamer Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
