GALLOWAY SCORES IN 4-1 LOSS

LMU tops Brevard 4-1

Harrogate, Tenn. - Craig Galloway scored  the Tornados’ only goal as they fell to Conference powerhouse Lincoln Memorial 4-1 Wednesday night in Harrogate, Tenn.

Lincoln Memorial improves to 9-2-1 and a conference leading 5-0-1 in the SAC while Brevard falls to 1-15 and 0-6 in the SAC.

Fernando Silveira and Jemal Talore scored for the Railspitters in the first half putting the Tornados down 2-0 at the half. Their third goal came when a Brevard player tried to defend a cross and deflected it in to their own goal making the score 3-0.

Galloway put the Tornados on the board at 60:59 when he took a long direct kick that deflected off the goalkeeper, Ryan Beckner’s hands before going in.

Lincoln Memorial responded two minutes later when Chris Nash took two quick passes from Calum Calder and Greg Lewandowski and put a header goal in past Jack Shaw.

Shaw saved seven of eleven for the Tornados while Railsplitter keeper, Michael Watkins save one of one in the first half before being replaced by Beckner who saved four of five in the second.

The Tornados return to action on Saturday when they travel to North Greenville for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
