Brevard, N.C. - Catawba used Andrew Landry’s hat trick to defeat the Tornados 3-0 on Brevard’s senior day and final game of the year.
The win allows Catawba to advance to the conference tournament with a 5-11-1 overall and 1-6-1 conference record while the Tornados finish the season with a 1-18 record.
The Indians scored their first goal at 14:44 when Landry chipped a shot over Jack Shaw who had come out of net to defend. Landry struck again in the 60th minute. Following a spectacular save by Shaw, Landry took the rebound and knocked it in. He completed the hat trick in the 73rd minute with an unassisted goal to give the Indians a 3-0 lead.
The Tornados took 24 shots with 12 being on target, but were unable to capitalize. Shaw finished the game saving 8 of 11.
