Jefferson City, Tenn. - The Tornados fell 5-0, ending their season this Wednesday at Carson-Newman. Sandra Kaelin led the Eagles with two goals and an assist. Brevard finishes the season 6-12-1, but made program history by advancing to the SAC Tournament for the first time.

Carson-Newman improves to 16-2-1 and will advance to play in the next round of the SAC Tournament against either Tusculum or Lincoln Memorial.

Sydney Douglas opened the first half with two spectacular saves, just getting her hands on two separate Katie Hunter shots and knocking them away. Douglas was supported by outstanding Tornado defense who denied the Eagles six corner kick attempts in the first half.

However, the Eagles proved to be too much for the Tornados scoring their first goal twenty-two minutes in when Trenna Howell connected with Sandra Kaelin. As Carson-Newman continued to shower Brevard with shots, they added two more goals in the first half. Howell added one in the 28th minute, while Melissa Morris scored after she found the ball bouncing in between defenders inside the box to make the score 3-0.

Allie Hovis threatened to score twice for the Tornados in the first half, but was forced to shoot wide.

Kaelin added another for Carson-Newman early in the second half making the score 4-0. Minutes later, Douglas made another nice save, coming out of goal while Hannah Graham stepped into the net heading the next Eagle shot away and saving a goal. Douglas continued to be showered with shots and finished the game with twelve saves.

Nikki Brannen scored the final goal at 76:13 off of a pass from Kaelin to make the final 5-0.

The Tornados, who were unable to muster any offense finished the game with just two shots.
